Experiencing Jupiter DC line in Finland
Are you drawn to the North but you can’t put a finger on why exactly, you enjoy wellness activities and connecting to nature, while you are interested in (sound) healing and yoga at the same time, wanting to achieve the inner bliss through activities that you have probably never done before, sounds appealing to you? If you nodded your head at least to one of these, then this diary entry is definitely for you!
The very beginning of the sentence may be your intuition calling, while astrocartography can help detect why and how you are drawn to this specific area! This was exactly my case. I always had a ‘‘thing’’ for the North (even though I come from a completely different climate and culture), and this diary entry will also analyze how being drawn to a certain area can justify intuitions ‘‘mumbling’’ in the bottom of your stomach and how a little dose of craziness (a.k.a. blindly saying yes to that little voice) can bring life-changing experiences.
What topics can evolve around Jupiter DC
Jupiter DC line in a general sense evolves around the topics of:
Expansion in relationships (personal, professional, romantic)
Opportunities for collaboration (I went to Finland to pursue collaboration on a Finnish retreat as a content creator!)
Worldview expansion, embracing of diversity, learning opportunities from others, personal growth through others (Jupiter = teaching, DC line = learning through others)
Experiencing optimism through/with others (Jupiter = optimism, DC line = always embraces topics related to or with others. I was experiencing these with a retreat group!)
Favorable legal / law-related outcomes (Jupiter is related to justice as well)
Sense of adventure in how you connect with others
In my case, my Jupiter is in Aquarius - if you are at least a little bit in Astrology, you know how Aquarius is unpredictable and can act out of the sudden, and that’s exactly how this trip happened. I randomly saw a post that Rika, a yoga teacher from Berlin following her journey on reconnecting to her Finnish roots, was looking for a content creator for her Midsummer retreat in Finland, while I was looking for ways to get back to content creation again, which I lost connection with in 2020.
When Saturn was transiting my Uranus, Jupiter, and Moon (8th house), it killed any sense of playfulness in me for quite a while. Even my Saturn MC line is involved in this story, which I will explain shortly. All in all, we quickly got in touch and I booked my ticket in a snap of a moment (Aquarius style). It’s even more interesting as both Rika and I have a Moon in Aquarius in the 8th house. This is just the beginning of the synchronicities that happened on my way to Finland, and a millionth confirmation that there are no coincidences in life.
Experiencing the Midsummer retreat in Finland
So, for instance, Midsummer, known as "Juhannus" in Finland, is a major celebration marking the summer solstice. Rooted in ancient pagan traditions, it symbolizes the height of summer and the longest day of the year. Celebrated in late June, it is a time when Finns retreat to the countryside, often to lakeside cottages called Mökki, to enjoy nature, bonfires called Kokko, and never-ending Finnish sauna sessions (midnight lake plunges and sauna birch branch whisks included), all under the midnight sun. Midsummer also honors Ukko, the ancient Finnish god of the sky, weather, and harvest. Traditionally, Ukko was invoked for good weather and abundant crops, with bonfires believed to ward off evil spirits and protect the harvest. I have to say the rain fell the day the retreat was over, mission accomplished!
Besides the spirit of Midsummer, we also did some foraging and celebrated Full Moon in Capricorn, went on a beautiful hike through the forest to a nearby lake (and picked fresh blueberries), grounded barefoot while we painted directly under the afternoon Sun (if you are from a warmer climate like me, Finnish summer Sun feels like a gentle kiss on the back), each day began with a yoga class, followed with very interesting workshops such as sound healing and trataka practice. I am still under the impression of how much I have learned within just 6 days! It quite matches the themes of the Jupiter DC line described in the previous chapter. If you are interested in experiencing Midsummer in 2025, Rika is organizing it again, this time with a house that will be directly on a lake! And believe me, there’s nothing unique than a midnight lake plunge that is happening in broad daylight, while you are letting go of the old and bringing in the new. You can sign up for Rika’s newsletter here, where you can receive special discounts for her events and retreats, too.
How Jupiter sextile Saturn MC restored my faith that work can be fun
You can see that I was located in Kirkkonummi, exactly on the sextile between my Jupiter DC line (35 km / 21 mile) and Saturn MC (40 km / 24 miles)…

As I mentioned in previous diary entries, aspects and lines nearby also have impact on where you are traveling as well. In my birth chart, I have Jupiter sextile Saturn, and also my Saturn MC line is going quite close by Kirkkonummi in Finland, which pushes further the harmonious synergy between these two planets. Saturn's MC line is related to work, and this is the reason in first place why I went here, while Jupiter brought in all the abundant juices in this flow. All of this felt like Jupiter and Saturn ‘‘knew what they were doing’’ by bringing experiences that are extremely close to my heart, first of being surrounded by greenery and local herbal plants, just like back at home.
Discovering alignments along Jupiter DC
Besides astrology, I am also involved in the topics of ecology, gardening, and herbalism daily, specifically as a content creator for Ekonaut. I was pleasantly surprised that on the first day of the Midsummer retreat, we had a foraging class with herbalist and biologist Anna. Within Ekonaut, I managed campaigns and created content for our herbalism courses with Momcilo!
Neptune DC / North node IC paran line, azimuth, home synchronicities
I know these pictures aren't the best in the world for showing this comparison, but the window, the birch tree, and this plant are aligned from my hometown room, with the same sunshine hit. The moment I realized this, my jaw dropped. Just what are the odds of something like this happening? This is the room that I grew up in my hometown (right pics, obviously). Even though it's not seen, and I am not in my hometown at the moment to take this picture, I also have a mirror in the corner of my room, too…
This synchronicity gives me the vibes of the room in Interstellar with the bookshelf if you watched it, just in my circumstances, my ghost (which I always thought I had one in this room when I was a kid, being terrified to sleep there) teleported me to a trip to Kirkkonummi, so thank you ghostie bestie!✌🏻
Astrologically, I am still contemplating how to calculate this alignment.
First off, My North Node (in Virgo) Azimuth is 333°58 in Kirkkonummi, being 352°04' from the original location, meaning the orb is 18°06', making the azimuth influence quite weak, and that’s why I’m second-guessing the influence of azimuth position on this. The azimuth is the angle between North and a celestial body, measured clockwise around the horizon.
What makes the most sense to me is Neptune DC + North Node IC paran line, 0°14' orb. My hometown is on my Neptune DC line, while the North Node in IC is related to destiny in topics around home. An orb of 0°14' is very precise, suggesting a strong connection between Neptune DC and the North Node IC in this context. There are a bunch of paran lines with Venus involved too, but to me, this deserves a whole other post and is a bit of a topic for advanced astrologers, though. So, it’s time to move on!
A Midsummer’s night dream
This one was definitely my biggest impression. In the previous diary entry, I explained that I’m a vivid dreamer on a daily basis. Once I arrived, the first night, it was blank for me. But the second night, exactly on the 21st of June, on a Midsummer night, I had the most intense dream I ever had in my entire life, with 0 exaggerations. On arrival, I was very drawn to a Sámi drum in the yoga room. To be honest, I had no idea what it was, nor who the Sámi people of Finland were, nor did we discuss the drum on the first day of the retreat. That night (actually day) was something else; the veil was definitely thin. I was sitting in “my hometown room,” intimidated to go to sleep, even though it was nearly 3 am, as I had a feeling something was going to happen, and I was quite anxious. I was looking through the window, where deer were roaming around, birds were flying near the windows, and lights were flickering? And you could hear sounds similar to a common loon, I think it was kuikka, with a smooth breeze going through the birch trees surrounding the place we were staying in.
Earlier that evening, I was busy creating content, while each retreatee was picking 7 different flowers to put under their pillow that night, as the tradition is if you do this on a Midsummer, you will dream of your future spouse. I have to admit I haven’t followed this through, as I was completely immersed in ‘‘picking flowers’’ with my camera instead, and haven’t picked and put them under my pillow at all! But I sure did have a dream to remember with three women flying around me that I am sure are Maderakka’s three daughters, Sarakka, Juksakka, and Uksakka. The dream was extremely intense; I was under the impression the whole day afterward. Akka is the wife of Ukko and is the goddess of fertility.
How am I so sure they are them? In a half-lucid state before waking up, while lying in bed with my eyes wide open, I was saying ‘‘annu akka akka annu’’ in a weird accent. I woke up and I froze in disbelief at what just happened. I googled the words instantly, and this page popped up. Yes, that’s the pic of the drum from the yoga room that you can see below!!! Even though it was intense at first, later during my research, I was and still am so honored that this happened to me! Of course, for some, this can make absolute sense or won’t make any at all, and it’s completely understandable, as I would be the first one who would say that this is nonsense a couple of years ago. It’s all nonsense until you experience something similar. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I also have a Venus DC / Neptune MC paran line going nearby, as well as a Venus ASC + Neptune ASC paran line, too. I think Venus plays a huge role in these dreams simply because it was connected to a female spirit and her daughters, connected to topics of fertility, love, and womanhood in general, while Neptune symbolizes dreams, and being on the MC = being on the highest point of the sky. Of course, experiences like this take a long period of interpretation.
If you are feeling under impression and you would like to experience Finland…
…In that case, Rika is organizing retreats in Finland a couple of times a year, Midsummer retreat included.
I can honestly write a mini book instead of a diary entry to write up all of the experiences and sensations I had in Finland. I often imagine how it would be if I stayed even longer, and I can’t wait to come back.
Here are some of the activities that you can experience on her retreats:
Hatha, vinyasa and yin yoga
Aroma workshop using essential oils
Cleansing practices, like foot baths and more
Cold-heat exposure (sauna & ice-bath/snow rolling)
Creative painting workshop
Finnish traditions and rituals like sauna and baking
…and more!
Sending blessings until the next diary entry,
Ang x
