Full Moon in Aries astro herbal practices
As the Full Moon in Aries lights up the night sky, it brings a surge of energy, courage, and enthusiasm. It's a perfect time to harness this vibrant energy for some self-care rituals, especially when it comes to our head, hair teeth, tongue, blood, and arteries, because Aries rules over them. Lately, due to being so involved around incoming readings and work in general (read as sitting all day), I caught myself thinking about wanting to feel the overflow of oxygen and adrenaline of doing extreme sports and hiking again, even though I was turned off from doing them for a while. This Full Moon build-up is happening in my 10th house, and the ruler of my 10th is in my 6th (Mars), on Sagittarius on 29°, read a sucker for an (extreme) adventure!

Let’s begin with a rosemary hair care ritual
Rosemary oil, extracted from the leaves of the rosemary plant (Rosmarinus officinalis), has been used for centuries in traditional medicine and culinary practices. Recently, it has gained popularity in the hair care industry and I totally get it why! A combo of rosemary for hair care and ginkgo biloba which we will elaborate on a bit later in this diary entry related for blood circulation does wonders for hair growth. Yes, even when you are struggling with brittle and dull hair like I do as well.
Besides being great for hair growth due to promoting circulation, rosemary oil is also a great remedy for reducing scalp irritations and dandruff and works as a dihydrotestosterone (DHT) blocker, a hormone linked to hair loss in both men and women, which rosemary reduces!
Extra steps for this ritual is definitely massaging your scalp at least 5 to 10 minutes a day (with a scalp massager or by the magic of your own hands), wearing hair-friendly scrunchies (I absolutely dislike the silky ones so I use plush scrunchies, even though silky ones are better)
And the final but such important step, putting olive oil on the ends, just like you do rosemary oil on the roots. The difference this tiny step makes… See it for yourself!
Exploring ginkgo biloba for blood circulation + breathing exercises
Ginkgo biloba contains compounds called flavonoids and terpenoids, which help relax and widen blood vessels. When blood vessels are wider, blood can flow more easily, allowing for better circulation. This can be particularly beneficial for people who experience coldness in their hands and feet.
One of the standout benefits of improved circulation is the effect on brain health. By increasing blood flow to the brain, ginkgo biloba helps deliver more oxygen and nutrients to brain cells. This boost can lead to better focus and clearer thinking. By improving blood flow to various parts of the body, including the brain and extremities, it can make a noticeable difference in how you feel. It also does wonders for improving focus, especially when if you have a problem with ADHD for example.
Ginkgo biloba may have a mild anticoagulant effect, which can help reduce the formation of blood clots, as a result, this can be quite beneficial for artery health, too.
If you want to try ginkgo biloba for better circulation, you can find it in several forms, such as capsules, tablets, teas, or liquid extracts. Before starting any new supplement, it’s always wise to consult with a healthcare professional, especially if you are on medications, particularly blood thinners, or have underlying health conditions.
Oxygen overflow can be satisfied outside extreme sports that I was talking in the beginning — with the power of breathwork! Breathing exercises can complement the effects of ginkgo biloba, especially in promoting relaxation and enhancing blood circulation.
Finalizing with teeth and tongue care
Finally, my favorite part of all — teeth care! Besides this homemade toothpaste ingredient (if you don’t want to make it your primary toothpaste, that’s fine, you can use it as a part of your self care routine every other day instead), you can also incorporate oil pulling for overall oral care. Oil pulling is an ancient Ayurvedic dental practice that involves swishing (usually coconut) oil around in your mouth to improve oral hygiene and overall health. Coconut oil (cocos nucifera) is the most popular choice because it has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, plus a mild taste.
All you need to do is place about 1 tablespoon of oil in your mouth in the morning and in the evening before bedtime. If the coconut oil is solid, let it melt in your mouth first. Gently swish the oil in your mouth, making sure to push and pull it through your teeth. Be careful not to swallow it, as the oil will be pulling toxins and bacteria from your mouth. Keep swishing gently for 15–20 minutes, but don’t strain your jaw or mouth muscles. If you can’t make it to 20 minutes at first, start with 5–10 minutes and gradually increase the time as you get used to it. After swishing, spit the oil into a trash can (not the sink, as the oil can clog pipes when it hardens). After spitting out the oil, rinse your mouth with warm water to remove any leftover oil or residue. You can also brush your teeth afterward for an extra clean feel.
Oil pulling is believed to help reduce harmful bacteria in the mouth, such as Streptococcus mutans, which is linked to tooth decay and gum disease. Swishing the oil helps trap bacteria, toxins, and debris, removing them from the mouth. I’ve been practicing oil pulling myself for a couple of years, in combination with water flossing and I haven’t had any gum disease or tooth decay for 10+ years. My tooth care consists of tooth brushing of course as well, and if it’s not a zeolite toothpaste, I switch it with ginger or charcoal + tongue scrapping 2x a day. The most expensive part of this routine is only the water flosser, but when you think long term about it, it’s actually a long term investment of 100-150$ which will save you in the long run from 6-month dental cleanings for example.
Shedding the old and welcoming the new
During the Full Moon in Aries, it's the perfect time to release what no longer serves you, and these self-care practices help you do just that. Using rosemary oil for your hair is a fantastic way to kickstart your scalp and encourage new growth. It’s like a little ritual to help you shed old, stagnant energy. As you massage the oil into your scalp, you're not just treating your hair—you’re also letting go of anything that’s been holding you back.
Now, when you incorporate ginkgo biloba with some breathwork, you’re really getting into the flow. This combo boosts circulation and helps clear away any mental fog. The breathwork, in particular, is a great way to release stress and blockages, paving the way for fresh, focused energy that aligns perfectly with that fiery Aries spirit. Finally, coconut and zeolite toothpaste for teeth care, oil pulling and tongue scraping are fantastic deep-cleaning rituals for your mouth. Oil pulling is the best solution for pulling out toxins naturally, while tongue scraping effectively removes any buildup on your tongue. Together, they create a powerful way to let go of unwanted residue. And when you pair these practices with coconut oil and zeolite mint toothpaste, you’re not just cleaning your teeth—you’re detoxifying and refreshing your mouth, giving yourself a delightful clean slate. Now I want to hear about you — which of these practices do you incorporate into your self-care routine, or do you have variations for these above?
Until the next diary entry,
