New Moon in Libra solar eclipse and astro herbalism advice on balance
Embracing new chapters with new moon in solar eclipse
A new moon solar eclipse is a remarkable event that occurs when the moon passes directly between the Earth and the Sun. Both new moons and solar eclipses signify new beginnings, but a solar eclipse intensifies this theme. It is a potent time for setting intentions and starting fresh, as the darkness created during the eclipse symbolizes the removal of obstacles and the clearing of old energy. Of course, the specific date of the happening doesn’t mean magical stuff will just happen overnight on the exact date of the eclipse. Look at it more in a way as an opening of a certain portal in life that will unfold in the next 6 months or a whole year. You can start with paying attention to where the eclipse is actually happening in your birth chart. In which house is it? Is it in conjunction with a certain axis or another planet in your birth chart? Is it in opposition to a certain planet?
I am personally quite curious to see how my 27th year will unfold, which will activate my 4th house annual profection year, where this eclipse will be happening. The Sun and Moon will be exactly in conjunction with my IC, in combination with Sun and Lilith on the same degree, and Mercury on the 11th, one degree away. Such energetical concentration and alignment haven’t happened for a while in my chart, so I am quite excited to see how this is going to play out!
Healing herbal choices for new moon Libra eclipse
These are my personal five for this eclipse season! Dandelion salad (yes, you can eat dandelion leaves and they are delish with vinegar and Celtic sea salt), burdock tea for detoxing, angelica tea for insulin level regulations and grounding during eclipse season, horse chestnut gel for vein health and circulation (which tends to slow down during the fall season and months onwards), and finally, rose petal baths + rose water for skincare, relaxation, and even adding a touch of Venusian charm for quality date nights. This is my definition of Libran qualities that resonate with me. Which ones resonate with you?
When you set clear intentions tied to Libran themes—or even focus on the specific house where this eclipse is taking place in your chart—you’re aligning yourself with the cosmic energies at play. It’s all about tuning in to how these energies interact with other planets, helping you flow with the rhythms of your life and embracing the new chapter. We can definitely spark our intentions with some herbal magic. Also, the focus during these times is on our organs ruled by Libra too, as they become more sensitive in this window, especially around the eclipse happening. You should pay attention a little extra if you have Chiron in Libra, our chart pain point, especially if its positioned in the 6th house, house of health.
The kidneys, ureters, urinary bladder, veins, skin, insulin, and glucagon are all ruled by Libra, so we should also focus on plants that are beneficial for them. Besides my personal combo for this eclipse season, here are some of the plants that you can incorporate into your diet, skincare, aromatherapy practices, intentions, and similar wellness practices. for the following eclipse window, and you can pick and work with what resonates.
Exploring plants ruled by the planet Venus
Planetary meaning of Venus
Venus is a planet that represents love, beauty, values, and harmony. When we think of Venus, we often envision romantic relationships and an appreciation for aesthetics. This planet influences how we see beauty in our lives, whether it's a stunning flower or a beautiful piece of art. Venus encourages us to seek balance in our lives, helping us find peace in our relationships and surroundings. It invites us to enjoy sensory pleasures, from tasty foods to the pleasant scents of nature. Beyond personal connections, Venus symbolizes growth and fertility, nurturing both our relationships and relationship with nature. It inspires creativity, urging us to express ourselves, and it rules the signs of Taurus and Libra and feels ‘at home’ in the 2nd and 7th houses. Of course, Venus being in your birth chart in one of these signs means that it’s exalted.
